SAVA is looking to hire a Senior Systems Administrator to support a very large complex operational environments for one of our valuable customers, a reputed Federal Agency in Sterling.  The position requires technical skills at Enterprise-level and must be able to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot, identify, and resolve technical issues.

 

Responsibilities:


  • Provide daily operational support of a global, complex, IT enterprise.

  • Demonstrates proficiency managing complex assignments.

  • Analyze system faults, review diagnostic tests, and troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems and underlying hardware to identify problems.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively, and cooperatively, as a member of a team, but also work independently and apply sound judgment and effective work prioritization without direct supervision.

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Active DoD Secret clearance.

  • 5+ years of operational experience focused on supporting large-scale environments is required.


  • Demonstrated comprehensive experience in Microsoft SQL or Oracle administration.



  • Experiencing administering database replication technology.



  • Capable of reviewing existing processes and identifying possible process improvements.



  • Ability to participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support (from home).


Desired Skills:



  • Advanced SQL scripting and HA configuration skills.



  • DB2, Postgres, MySQL, or NoSQL experience a plus.



  • Knowledge of server hardware location and function.



  • Basic understanding of network technologies (LAN vs WAN troubleshooting, VLAN identification, &c) are a plus.



  • Understanding of basic Linux and/or Windows Server Operating System maintenance.


  • DEA suitability is highly desired.
