Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and/or product development.
Under the direction of the Engineer Section Head, provides technical direction to department engineers.
Plans and coordinates larger-scale engineering projects or several medium or small projects while acting as a technical specialist for a specific section.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of new developments and technology.
Monitors projects and recommends changes to improve operating efficiency.
Lead process / product improvement projects develop project timelines, phase in/out plans, validation strategies, validation protocols and reports, and execute validation protocols.
Generate Change Controls and supporting documentation required to implement the project.
Generate, execute and analyze and make conclusions from results of Engineering Test Requests.
Organize and conduct status review sessions to manage project portfolio as to provide executive summary updates to stakeholders.
Work with outside vendors to assure compliance with established machine specifications and schedules.
Actively participate in the evaluation of current and new processes, including troubleshooting, upgrade recommendations, and quotes for new equipment.
Responsible for the development and debugging of internally designed machinery and work with developers to debug externally developed ones.
Coordinate and provide support to plant personnel for the commissioning and validation of new or modified production lines.
Participate in the preparation and lead follow up for approval of Capital Expenditures Requests as required for tool/equipment replacement or cost reductions projects.
Maintain effective and proactive communication and collaboration with Operational Excellent (OpEx) Group and with the Focus Factory Leadership Team to ensure Project/Goal's alignment. Estimate, report and monitor the project savings.
Support the Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the Ponce site.
Responsible for assigned Lean or Six Sigma project per fiscal year and/or Cost Saving project according to performance goal financial savings. Support the OpEx & Quality initiatives (i.e., QIP, QBWM).
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience
Nice to Have
Bachelor in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
TQM- Re- Engineering
Excellent Communicator in both Spanish/ English and must have the writing abilities as well.
