About The Job:
The Cardiac Tech will assume the following two roles: Nursing Assistant and/or Telemetry Tech. Individual skills and preferences will be taken into consideration; however, department needs will prevail when making decisions on skill mix.
Nursing Assistant: The nurse assistant provides patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse. This care focuses on personal hygiene, nutritional needs and activities of daily living.
Telemetry Technician: The Telemetry Technician provides ongoing observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms; prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system.
What we are looking for:
High school education or equivalent preferred.
Completion of geriatric aid certification and State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as "Active" or eligible.
Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.
Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
