1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm

You’ll also develop protective packaging containers for parts that have not been processed previously. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Plan and direct activities concerned with the design and development of protective packaging containers

  • Analyze engineering drawings and product specifications to determine the physical characteristics of the items, special handling and safety requirements and type of materials required for container

  • Advise staff or customers on efficient packaging procedures, innovations in packaging materials and utilization of sealing and fastening devices

  • Identify, develop and validate packaging that pertains to ASTMD3951 and MIL-STD-2073

  • Work closely with packaging suppliers to identify appropriate packaging components and materials

  • Serve as the technical packaging expert

  • Train key personnel on proper packaging techniques

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • To be a U.S. Citizen or hold U.S. Person status

  • Ability to obtain security clearance

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Broad technical experience in the packaging engineering field

  • Experience with military packaging requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well with multiple cross-functional teams
