Research Assistant I-Pediatrics Gastroenterology, full-time, nonexempt position.
The Research Assistant I will work on the project to study maternal-infant transfer of microbial modified immunity. The Research Assistant I will closely work with senior research staff and PI in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Department of Pediatrics to monitor breeding mice, orally feed probiotics to the mice, and collect tissue samples from newborn either healthy or sick mice to analyze immune cells by using flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry staining techniques. Research Assistant will assist to analyze the collected data by using software such as FlowJo, Prism. Will also need to prepare for experimental reagents, culturing probiotics, and keep the lab organized and clean.
Position Summary:
Under close direction of senior research staff, the research assistant will conduct experiments and analyze results (including cell culture, flow cytometry, animal tissue collection, processing, and analysis).
