Whether it is the dispatchers working with the drivers to ensure a safe and timely delivery, or the employees working on the dock in order to get the items safely and efficiently loaded onto the trailers, we will always be working our hardest to make deliveries safely and on time. Kingsway Logistics is looking for CDL A Drivers with Hazmat and Tanker Endorments


This position is primarily responsible for the transport of freight with situational forklift and other mechanical maneuvering operation. Follows efficient routes and maintains all transportation records required.

Open to discussing Contractor Driver as well


* Assist in directions to laborers who are packing goods and moving them onto trailers

* Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy

* Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage

* Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order

* Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes

* Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks

* Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles

* Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, or other materials

* Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods

* Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure

* Install or remove special equipment whenever applicable

* Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions

* Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary

* Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations

* Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned

* Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered items

* Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with dispatch or supervisors

* Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs

* Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions

* Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes

* Read bills of lading to determine assignment details whenever applicable

* Remove debris from loaded trailers

* Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles

* Safely operate designated equipment used in a general warehouse environment, including but not limited to, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts

* Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or cover

* Wrap and secure goods using pads, packing paper, containers, or straps

High school diploma or equivalent

CDL A endorsement with a satisfactory motor vehicle record

Hazmat and Tanker endorsement

Considerable Chicagoland geographical knowledge

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Demonstrates the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Also the ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Computer Skils

Use of computer system to issue material, labor and record quality data

Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); working near moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions; dusty conditions from the plastic parts (non-weather); extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather)

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud

Required to frequently reach with hands and arms; walk; climb; stoop; kneel; and push and pull large objects

Must exhibit excellent gross motor dexterity and coordination as they might regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs; and at times be able to use force to push/pull over 75 pounds with assistance of casters, and lift equipment provided

Must be able to speak clearly to be heard; as well as hear work related instructions from co-workers, door bells, lift truck noises and other equipment moving around them Must be able to adequately perform tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
