Managing Scheduling and Receiving:
Overnight Inventories and Delivery Schedules: As a Buyer/Scheduling Manager, you oversee the management of overnight inventories and delivery schedules for all loads of market hogs. Ensuring timely arrival and meeting inventory needs are crucial aspects of this responsibility.
Coordination with Producers: You coordinate and confirm delivery schedules with hog producers to maintain efficient operations.
Regulatory Compliance: It's essential to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including USDA Mandatory Price Reporting and GIPSA (Grain Inspection, Packers, and Stockyards Administration).
Hog Procurement Agreements: You verify that all requirements specified in Seaboard Triumph Foods' Hog Procurement Agreements are met by suppliers.
Livestock Receiving Policies: Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to livestock receiving.
Championing the Common Swine Industry Audit Process:
As part of your role, you actively participate in and champion the Common Swine Industry Audit process. This involves ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
HPE System Management:
Data Accuracy and Supervision: You supervise the data entry process and ensure the accuracy of data and records in the HPE (Hog Procurement Enterprise) system.
Report Generation: Timely generation and distribution of reports from the HPE system fall under your purview.
Data Transfer Coordination: You coordinate the transfer of data between the HPE system and Seaboard Triumph Foods' accounting system.
System Modifications and Upgrades: Collaborate with Seaboard Foods' information technology personnel to manage system modifications and upgrades.
Market Hog Purchasing:
Base of Producers: Maintain a base of hog producers as a reliable source for open market hog purchases.
Open Market Hog Purchasing: Manage the purchasing of open market hogs as directed.
Coordination with Non-Owner Producers: Coordinate and manage hog procurement agreements with non-owner producers.
Quality Standards: Set standards for the sorting process and resale of non-qualifying market hogs.
