Role Summary

As a member of the Analytics Platform team, within Data Science CoE, the Platform Ecosystem Product Manager is responsible for managing and championing product integration and development of Cigna’s advanced analytics and data science platform solutions.  

The Analytics Platform Product Manager will collaborate closely with GD&A Data Scientists and Business Analysts to define feature sets and platform design, and to build and deploy the platform components in partnership with the Data and Analytics Engineering team. Reporting to the Head of Analytics Platform, the Senior Product Manager is accountable for defining and maintaining a release roadmap, iteration and defect backlog grooming, and ensuring internal product stakeholders needs/expectations are met transparently through agile practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the product owner for the Analytics Platform toolkits and capabilities to deliver on Cigna’s Global Data & Analytics solutions for internal and external business partners

  • Develop and validate product release roadmaps and launch readiness plans tied to the Data Science CoE and Analytics Platform business strategy

  • Define and document user personas, user scenarios, use case definitions, and detailed product requirements to drive the development and release of platform capabilities

  • Develop deep knowledge of data science and advanced analytics community and innovations by interviewing prospective and existing platform consumers to determine needs for product roadmap direction

  • Define, track and analyze key platform usage, adoption, and performance metrics to provide strategic recommendations

  • Provide analytics platform subject matter expertise to help understand platform positioning and key value propositions through internal communication channels (blogs, presentations, case studies)

  • Collaborate with external vendors as needed on aligning feature roadmap and development


  • 3+ years of experience driving agile product development with demonstrated record of delivering solutions to internal stakeholders and/or external market segments

  • 3+ years of directly relevant industry work experience developing solutions in the data analytics space, including hands-on expertise in statistical data analysis, predictive modeling, machine/deep learning working with commercial and open source tools

  • Solid experience and knowledge of the big data landscape (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Cloud-based storage/compute/network infrastructure as well as data processing solutions on AWS, Azure or GCP)

  • Strong understanding of analytics and data science processes including model development lifecycle, model performance management and governance, and software development lifecycle including ability to articulate value propositions for advanced analytics use cases

  • Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and partners in a collaborative development process, continuous learning, knowledge sharing and advisory/mentoring skills

  • Well versed in articulating business and technical value proposition for advanced analytics use cases

  • Excellent conceptual and analytical thinking and communication skills through white-boarding, presentations and written content creation

  • Experience in Healthcare data domains is preferred (provider, payer, medical, pharmaceutical and/or health services)

  • Demonstrated record of building data platforms (vs. turn-key products) and communicating their value through solution selling or business value consulting is preferred

  • Strong knowledge of the data science and advanced analytics solution vendors and competitive landscape is preferred

Must be willing to travel (up to 20% per month) between Cigna’s New York, NY and Bloomfield, CT offices
