The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will provide the organization with actionable insights from analyzing a multitude of data sources.   The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is the technical lead the Business Intelligence Analyst team, and will work with these other team members to improve their technical skills, peer review work, and help assist them with technical challenges. The end result will enable Ent to meet or exceed various business strategies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Communication


• Develops partnerships with the consumers of the data analytics to understand business needs.


Technical Lead


• Reviews the work of others, mentors, trains, and aids other team members with technical challenges.


Business Intelligence / Data Mining / Analysis




  • Answers business problems by using appropriate statistical and Data Mining technics on existing data.

  • Ad Hoc queries to discover patterns in data.

  • Analyze and interrupt the results of Data Mining and Business Intelligence analysis.

  •  Creates data models in order to conduct analysis.

Maintenance


•Provides technical support and problem resolution for customer inquiries regarding the new and existing data analytics.


Minimum formal education required for this position:


Knowledge consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar


 (Preferred) Knowledge consistent with a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar


Minimum work experience:


8+ years’ of Financial Institution or related IT industry experience


5+ years’ in the field of data analysis or data warehousing


Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:



  • Database core skills

    • Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated experience with the following:

      • Data warehousing concepts and practices

      • Relational data modeling and architecture



    • Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated experience with the following technologies:

      • Microsoft SQL Server

      • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

      • Structured query language (T-SQL)

      • Designing cubes/Tabular Data Models (TDM)

      • Data mining techniques utilizing clustering, neural networks, decision trees, and other such data mining algorithms.

      • Writing queries against cubes and mining models using DAX

      • Power BI





  • Other skills

    • Must be able to work independently to deliver complete system solutions and provides guidance within technical area, applying in-depth knowledge of multiple technologies, as appropriate

    • Experience acting as a consultant to other professionals in IT, providing technical leadership in their area of specialization

    • Must be comfortable working in highly collaborative environments

    • Must be able to conduct presentations in group settings in a professional and courteous manner

    • Must be able to learn new and emerging concepts very quickly

    • Must be able to maintain good productivity in developing efficient code and database designs in a very timely manner, with defect rates kept to a minimum

    • Experience with Scrum and Kanban development

    • Experience with Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)



Certifications required:



  • None required

  • (Preferred) Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) Practitioner Level or similar

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements:



  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate controlled environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, handling paper, currency, or coin, and operating a telephone. Must be able to type at least 50 words per minute (WPM). Typing at a level below 50 words per minute would negatively impact productivity. Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
