Sr. Python Developer

Equifax is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our automation team in Alpharetta, GA.  The automation team designs and builds all the automation for systems at Equifax.  We automate bare metal and cloud deployments, OS configuration, patching, monitoring, load balancing, firewalls, and everything in between.  We work with software development teams in a DevOps model and provide them with self-service cloud resources and CI/CD pipeline automation.  This is a high visibility role on a high visibility team that is revolutionizing how Equifax delivers systems and software.  The work we do is making Equifax a better place to work!

You love open source software, you’re a Python expert and you can code your way out of any situation.  You love to automate things.  You’re like a Swiss Army knife of technology.  You like to learn new skills and teach.  You have a good sense of humor and get along well with others.  While you’re easygoing, you’re serious about your work and take ownership.

You will have a choice of Mac or Windows with two large monitors.

What you will do:

  • Participate in our Agile process

  • Write code in Python with automated unit tests and automated deploys

  • Learn about and help maintain our self-service portal, written in Python

  • Interact with APIs and asynchronous task queues

  • Help others to be awesome by teaching them to use the automation we develop


  • Bachelor’s degree or technical college diploma in a technical field or equivalent experience

  • Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system

  • Expertise in Python

  • Experience with configuration automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt Stack, etc. (We use Chef))

  • Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery

  • Familiarity with software development best practices
