JOB DESCRIPTION

Use your skills as a HVAC Mechanic to help Resideo deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our facilities and customers. You will work under immediate supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented professionals. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of the site's commitment to the organization and its customers. The Resideo HVAC Mechanic operates, balances, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance on air conditioning, ventilation, water, sprinkler and sewer systems at our Golden Valley plant.

JOB DUTIES:

• Balance air conditioning and ventilation systems using instruments such as velometers, anemometers, and draft gauges; adjust dampers to obtain proper flow across filters and coils.
• Operate and troubleshoot air conditioning, ventilation, water, sprinkler, and sewer systems, isolating troubles and taking the necessary action to correct them. Check, adjust, and replace or calibrate temperature and pressure controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment such as oiling units, adjusting belts, checking water pumps for flow, checking ductwork for fire hazards, checking chlorinators, checking operation of pneumatic control air compressors and accessories.
• Work from blueprints and schematic information such as piping layouts and duct layouts; understand and apply principles of air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration in terms of types of refrigerant and compressors; principles of relative humidity, vacuum, and pressure; and, components of air conditioning system.
• Work under the direction of Refrigeration Group Lead and Facilities Leadership for analysis and remedy. Keep records on day-to-day operation, on maintenance and repair of equipment. May be asked to orders supplies as required.

MOS:

Embrace and engage in the Resideo Operating System (MOS) including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Completed with a passing grade all applicable EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification tests up to and including Type III (Universal: Low and High pressure equipment)
• Ability to sustain physical effort when making repairs or adjustments on machines and equipment.
• Ability to work in conditions exposed to varying degrees of dust, dirt, heat, noise, etc.
• High School Diploma or GED (Successful completion of 18 months Air Conditioning-Refrigeration school course at Dunwoody or equivalent school and 24 months experience preferred).

WE VALUE:

• Possession of an Electrician Power Limited Technician license from the State of Minnesota
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The HVAC Mechanic pays $40.95/hour with a scheduled increase to $41.88/hour, effective April 1, 2024.
