Job Description:

Position Overview


The System Administrator will focus on desktop support, server management, application support, cloud, and network infrastructure. This role interfaces internally with all IPA staff and externally with consultants and vendors. The right candidate will be an IT player-coach who is passionate about building a world class IT organization that drives operational efficiencies through ITIL best practices, automation, and customer (employee) centricity. Provides support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop or network services from local personnel or from employees using remote access. This position will act as the escalation point for the Junior System Administrator and be responsible for primary oversight of the IPA Helpdesk.


Essential Job Functions and Basic Duties



  • Provide technical support for corporate office and remote users including:

    • Domain (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Azure AD, etc.)

    • E-mail (Office365)

    • Laptops, desktops, and tablets

    • Hyper-V

    • Network (routers, switches)

    • VOIP Phone System

    • Cellular phones

    • General Office equipment



  • Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.

    • Troubleshoot hardware and software.

    • Familiar with all hardware and software in use at IPA.

    • Familiar with network equipment in use at IPA.

    • Assist network users in accessing network resources and operating software programs.

    • Provide individual training and support on request.

    • Ensure inventory of technology hardware, software and resources are kept current.



  • Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access.

    • Supports the help desk and support functions of the IT Department.

    • Act as escalation point for troubleshooting of technology issues.

    • Connect and setup hardware as needed.

    • Provide network accounts and passwords as required.

    • Assist in monitoring security of all technology.

    • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate.

    • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

    • Reviews and improves existing software and equipment.



Minimum Qualifications
















Education and Experience:




  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • 5+ years of related leadership experience in diverse Information Technology environment. 

  • Management experience in directing both daily operations and major project work.

  • Direct leadership roles in launching new systems, hardware, and processes.


 



Required Knowledge:




  • Knowledge of the Company’s operations and management.

  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.

  • Thorough understanding of IPA products, related technologies, and IPA’s process.

  • General/Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows products (desktop and servers), Linux variants (CentOS, RedHat, Debian), Ubiquiti and Cisco network equipment and TrueNAS fileservers is required.

  • E-mail and internet programs.

  • Computer viruses and security.

  • Computer hardware and software systems & programs.

  • Computer networks, network administration and network installation

  • Computer troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of technology trends.

  • Working knowledge of operating and support systems.

  • Working knowledge of data backup and disaster recovery technologies.

  • Quick learner, self-starter, able to work independently.

  • Can operate under limited supervision, but also work well with the team to collaborate, train and be trained to support/nurture a highly productive product and development team.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the Company.

  • Must have troubleshooting and complex problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage Office 365 and Azure environments.

  • Must be customer service oriented.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish goals, manage metrics, and meet objectives.

  • Proven ability to learn technical applications and requirements.

  • Ability to handle situations, issues, and information with sound judgement, diplomacy, and sensitivity.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong follow-up and follow-through skills.


Work Schedule, Position Status, & Compensation:




  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm

  • Full Time – Regular

  • Salary - Exempt

  • $70,000 - $85,000/annual
