Danfoss is seeking a Senior Factory Sustainability Engineer to support our Turbocor business in Tallahassee, FL. The Senior Factory Sustainability Engineer serves as the key technical resource for the manufacturing operation focusing on predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution for electronic/mechanical equipment issues. This Engineer also plays a key role in continuous improvement efforts, project implementation and maintains plant readiness. Focus on safe, efficient, reliable maintenance and operation of equipment to ensure the production of quality products.
* Innovates and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope.
* Highly skilled at troubleshooting and maintenance of a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment
* Experienced in PLC programming (Siemens Preferred)
* Review of RFQ's (Request for Quote) for new and modified equipment
* Designs/updates/implements electrical systems and prints for machines or shop floor tooling and equipment.
* Designs/updates/implements human machine interfaces and PLC programs for machines or shop floor systems.
* Modify existing PLC and HMI programs for upgrades and changes
* Support of shop floor device connectivity (torque tools, test and verification equipment, vision systems, etc.).
* Assist with MES configuration, and testing.
* Support integration (installation and networking) of shop floor equipment and tooling into MES and PLCs.
* Support operations in analysing machine data.
* Provide daily support for urgent production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
* Generate and maintain user manuals and reports required to support management of equipment
* Other duties as reasonably assigned
Required Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Software/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
o 5+ years of experience
o Interpersonal and presentation skills with a diverse group of colleagues
o Strong skills in SOP and process documentation
o Strong skills in data analysis and root cause definition
o Experience with Lean manufacturing practices
Preferred Qualifications:
o Refrigeration experience
o CNC experience
o Lean and/or Six Sigma principles
o Some experience with training needs assessment, design and delivery.
o Must be able to excel in a cross-functional, team-based structure
o High proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), MiniTab and standard industry software
