Job Description:

Ariadne Labs is a joint center for health systems innovation at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Our goal is to drive scalable solutions for better care at critical moments in people's lives everywhere. Better care means better health outcomes, lower costs, and more actual caring. Critical means solving health systems failures that have major impact, typically touching people by the millions. Ariadne Labs currently has research programs in the areas of childbirth, surgery, palliative care, and primary health care.




The Better Evidence program at Ariadne Labs works to close the gap between what we know and do in health care. One piece of achieving this vision is to ensure practitioners and trainees routinely access the best possible clinical evidence to provide the best possible care and treatment for patients. Better Evidence for Providers is facilitating access and uptake of evidence-based clinical resources (EBCR) for tens of thousands of clinicians in resource-limited settings to improve care and treatment decisions. Better Evidence for Training is working to develop the habit of accessing the evidence among medical students and educators by facilitating the routine use of EBCR in medical schools in Africa. We are scaling both these programs quickly. In the midst of the global pandemic, we are also working to translate what we know about health care delivery to vaccine delivery and support equitable vaccination. All our work involves collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders across the world.




Senior Project Managers are considered senior representatives of Ariadne Labs, its mission and its values, both internally and externally. This position requires an individual who is skilled at working collaboratively within Ariadne's matrix organization to draw in the right expertise at the right time to support the work of the program. This position requires an ability to develop and maintain external relationships through in-person and remote communication. When office work resumes, the Senior Project Manager should be able to work regularly in Ariadne's office in Boston and have the ability to travel up to 20%. The position requires access to the internet and a quiet place to work in the meantime. The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the Assistant Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:




Project Management:




  • In collaboration with the Assistant Director, provide input into the vision and strategy for Better Evidence and ensure the vision and strategy are understood within the team, within Ariadne, and with the relevant external partners and stakeholders




  • Represent the Better Evidence Project effectively internally and externally, including composing and delivering regular program communications




  • Train and develop junior team members, including providing guidance on projects




  • Document and represent the Better Evidence portfolio effectively in regular written and verbal communications, including grant reports and external communications




  • Support integrated program and project planning: annual program planning, alignment of program goals with project objectives, revising and updating of tasks, timelines, and deliverables as appropriate




  • Ensure the various components of the program are on-scope, on-time, and on-budget




  • Develop project work plans and timelines; Track project deliverables, identify roadblocks, and escalate issues as they arise




  • Identify potential barriers and opportunities for program and project work, solve problems as they arise, and escalate issues where appropriate to Ariadne's leadership




  • Collaborate with the assigned Grants Manager to ensure program and project budgets are managed, tracked, and updated




  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders to effectively secure Ariadne resources and support, including insight to inform significant program decisions




  • Secure appropriate Ariadne resources and support to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and on budget




  • Assist in other tasks to improve and support the project as requested, including possible administrative or research tasks




New Partnership Management




  • Continually assess potential new partnerships and products for Better Evidence in the global public health space




  • Aid in evaluating fit, credibility, and usability of potential new digital tools into the Better Evidence portfolio




  • In collaboration with team members, create and execute onboarding plan for new digital tool providers into Better Evidence management portfolio, data management and organizational structure, and technical infrastructure




  • Manage work plans, timelines, and deliverables related to new partnerships and tools




  • Serve as the point of contact for external communication related to new partnership onboarding and management




  • Maintain consistency in proactive communication and action item follow-up for external partners




  • Represent Ariadne Labs and the Better Evidence Initiative professionally with staff, guests, donors and field visits




  • Create and implement promotional and communications planning for new EBCRs to increase awareness of Better Evidence offerings among providers in low-resource settings




  • Manage revenue and grant generating activities for the Better Evidence portfolio including: prioritization opportunities, proposal development and writing, resource coordination, and relationship cultivation




Ariadne Labs:




  • Participate in, and encourage team member participation in, Ariadne Labs' organizational meetings, updates, and community building activities




  • Communicate Ariadne organizational updates to team members




  • Share learnings from the Better Evidence Program with other Ariadne program teams




  • Model and reinforce Ariadne's values by serving as a steward of not only the Better Evidence Program, but of Ariadne's overall mission and goals









    Qualifications

    Qualifications:




    • 5 - 10 years of program management or research coordination experience,




    • 3-5 years experience managing multiple projects and people simultaneously preferred




    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred




    • Experience in a role requiring leadership and collaboration both within an organization and with external partners, as well as a demonstrated ability to work efficiently and diplomatically as part of a team effort




    • Experience managing and mentoring junior team members, both individually and in small teams




    • Familiarity with Google Drive (e.g. Google docs, Google Sheets, etc.), Smartsheet, and other project management software tools preferred




    • Experience working in a matrix organization/environment preferred




    • Experience in global public health and resource-limited settings preferred

    Required Skills:




    • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, on scope and on budget, preferably in a healthcare setting
