Description

Reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent, the Housekeeping Supervisoris responsible for the management of Service Staff IV (housekeeping staff), equipment, materials, and resources within assigned Temple University facilities buildings. The Sr. Facilities Specialist will assign Service Staff IV employees daily work assignments. He/she will be responsible for assigned buildings at the discretion of the Night Shift Superintendent.

This position will also supervise and oversee the floor maintenance to include: scrubbing, stripping, and waxing tasks. Administrative responsibilities consist of the timely preparation and submission of any housekeeping-related written documentation. The duties and responsibilities of this position will require the Housekeeping Supervisorto periodically work outdoors and in inclement weather. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Three years of directly related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning and floor care equipment and procedures

*Ability to work outside and in inclement weather

*Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with and supervise a large number of employees

*Demonstrated ability to make difficult decisions when necessary

*Demonstrated ability to assess and resolve housekeeping related issues while adhering to university/departmental policy and procedures

*Must be able to work extended hours when necessary
