The St. Louis Fed is looking for an energetic social media professional to help implement the external communications content strategy across ever-relevant social media platforms. You will have a background in managing multiple social media platforms simultaneously, strong writing and editing skills, and experience developing creative solutions in a low-risk environment.

The Social Media Specialist will promote content and manage brands on traditional social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Medium and LinkedIn, and be knowledgeable about new platforms. You will coordinate daily posting on multiple platforms, build social media campaigns, and work with content creators across the Bank to identify promotional angles for publications, events and more. You will not only complete daily social media functions, but also provide writing and editing support along with analytics-based insights on social efforts and how they create synergy with traditional marketing and communications efforts.

As part of the External Engagement and Corporate Communications department at the St. Louis Fed, the media, social media and analytics team performs a variety of important functions at the Bank: distributes economic content to different social media and traditional media audiences; consults with multiple Bank departments on promotional strategy; develops brand messaging and voice across a variety of platforms; and plays a key role as the guardian of the Bank's reputation, ensuring that content is accurate, relatable and presented with a diverse audience in mind.

Responsibilities


  • Schedule and post content across multiple Bank social media platforms.
  • Write, edit and proof content for posting on diverse channels.
  • Work with Bank staff to develop new ways to reach targeted audiences.
  • Coordinate social media technology, including Hootsuite and native social platforms.
  • Serve as a liaison for multiple Bank department social media needs.
  • Contribute to a team focused on engaging with external audiences, including implementing enhancements on our public facing social channels.
  • Help manage relationships with third-party vendors.
  • Evaluate new social media tools and platforms that could help us meet our business goals.
  • Identify and execute creative ways to promote economic and academic content to a general audience.
  • Partner with team members to help promote communications efforts for specific business lines, collaborating to develop comprehensive strategic plans that include social media campaigns.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, emphasis in integrated marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 5 years of social media administration experience.
  • Experience with Hootsuite.
  • In-depth knowledge of the social media landscape - both new and traditional.
  • Review and schedule 8,000+ social media posts annually, across 16 accounts.
  • Impart social engagement knowledge to fellow teammates.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing, with an emphasis on marketing communications.
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Attention to detail, project management skills and meeting tight deadlines are priorities.
  • Travel (5%)
