What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Senior Pricing Analyst promotes achievement of business objectives through development of pricing strategies, and pricing proposals that maximize profitability for any of MTM & MTM Transit’s current and future lines of business. The position is responsible for coordinating and performing all activities related to price quoting, customer profitability analysis and promoting the use of standard pricing and estimating tools. The role supports the Business Development team in formulating, analyzing and presenting pricing options that maximizes profitability. The Senior Pricing Analyst performs current state financial analysis of pricing actions and impacts across business units, products, client relationships and identifies pricing-related performance improvement opportunities. The Senior Pricing Analyst prepares business performance drivers, key metrics and other analytical insights regarding deal pricing activities, while also performing profitability analysis, budget analysis, and contract reporting, all of which revolve around adhering to strict deadlines and providing accurate and pertinent analysis/information.
Understand functional business processes to create highly detailed and flexible pricing models
Analyze factors driving any significant variances in revenue or transportation costs from prior month, budget/reforecast, or other contract/plan/state expectations
Analyze and problem solve issues with internal and external data
Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Recommend appropriate pricing strategies to internal stakeholders based on data collected and/or received
Assist with developing and creating more automated financial analytics
Design and document pricing processes to develop department-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems to optimize the pricing modeling function
Aid and assist in Plan Improvement/Financial Review meetings with Program Directors, Operations, and various other department representatives to drive forward cost-saving opportunities, and financial understanding of associated plan/contract financials, from both an actual and a budget perspective
Monitor for accurate completion of time-sensitive pricing requests
Ensure quality and consistent delivery of pricing models in response to RFP requests
Establish solid rapports with the different business units to increase interdepartmental communication and input
Complete monthly/quarterly contractually required financial reporting for specified contracts/plan/states
Assist in yearly budgeting and reforecasting of company-wide revenue and transportation costs
Research any discrepancies identified within different operational expenses at a plan-level
Perform other special projects as assigned
All you need is...
Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Analytics
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Finance or Accounting role
Previous data analysis experience
Advanced experience with MS Excel
Even better if you have...
Knowledge of general accounting processes and procedures
Intermediate experience with MS Word, PowerPoint and Access preferred. Power BI experience welcomed
Ability to utilize VBA macros
Adept at queries and creating and working with pivot tables
Strong and accurate data analysis skills, with the ability to find truth within data sets
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and meet established deadlines and goals
Works well independently while simultaneously demonstrating effective analytical/problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain high level of ethics and confidentiality
Ability to multitask in a sometimes rapid paced environment
Possess the skill to adapt and learn on the fly given frequent changes of course towards requests and research
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of statistical methodologies preferred
