OBJECTIVES: 

The Project Manager, US Medical Therapeutic Area (TA) Project Management will provide project management support across multiple therapeutic areas to the PMO management team. Specific role elements include:


  • Obtains data to support regular Medical Unit report updates

  • Generates tracking and other project management-related reports utilizing multiple systems

  • Review and update TA document tools for contracting, knowledge management and budget spend

  • Ad-hoc support to core medical unit meetings for action item capture and follow through to resolution.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assist the TA Managers in the execution of the US Medical product strategies across the Therapeutic Areas.

Project Management  


  • Interacts with TA Manager for direction with  the tracking and communication of key outputs and accomplishments related to TA medical unit reports.

  • Provides support to the PMO Manager in  weekly and/or monthly medical unit/disease area leadership team meetings. This includes: capturing key outcomes and action items, follow up on actions, and presentation preparation as appropriate.

  • Provides project management support in the monthly review for individual TA medical unit budgets and supports error corrections and follow up.

  • Utilizes multiple applications to generate summary reports to track medical unit contracting and PO spend; ensures reports are appropriately stored  in document library/repositories.

  • Supports year-end manual budget accrual needs for Finance and Accounting

  • Communicates potential efficiencies where appropriate.

Technical/Functional Expertise


  • Proven competency in project management: knowledge and experience using various tools (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

  • Solid experience in and/or understanding of medical research in academic or industry settings

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:   

Education


  • Bachelor’s Degree: science or business-related field required

  • Area of Specialization: Healthcare Research, Project Management

Knowledge & Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in healthcare industry, research and development, or related experience in the pharmaceutical industry

Leadership Skills & Behaviors


  • Self-motivated to learn and expand skill-set beyond the role..

  • Solid communication skills and professional presence.

  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment, while maintaining a focus on operational excellence and detail orientation.
