Job Description:

The Senior Demand Planning Analyst - Operations (SDPA- Ops) impacts business results through the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of business and system issues related to Inventory Management and product availability impacting Supply Chain, Retail, and Vendor Partners. The SDPA-Ops leverages deep knowledge of Best Buy business processes to assist in identifying, prioritizing and delivering solutions for critical issues, and enhancements (process and technical) on behalf of the core business teams.

The SDPA- Ops possesses in depth knowledge of unique business dynamics related to inventory management (store, warehouse and on-line), vendor relationships, supply chain, retail and other core business functions. Utilizing in depth knowledge of core business dynamics, process and system capabilities the SDPA-Ops guides the delivery of key outcomes that span the Best Buy enterprise. The SDPA-Ops is responsible for tactical functions which sustain business outcomes relating to system stability, inventory health, exception management, and compliance programs providing centralized execution, and on-going education of impacted audiences.

System and Process Opportunity Identification, Troubleshooting and Enhancement:

  • Guide issue identification process in partnership with Business Support Planners, Operations Planners, Business Teams, Vendors Partners, and the Retail Field.

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and communication mechanisms across multiple levels in the organization.

  • Partner with core business teams, retail partners, IT organization and supply chain to define and successfully complete additional projects, aligning resources to deliver outcomes.

  • Provide leadership in the execution of change management activities related to issues and enhancements identifying cross-functional impacts.

Cross-functional Partnership and Education:

  • Manage process documentation including SOPs, Job Aids, Playbooks, and Reporting, ensuring that information is provided to audiences across the organization.

  • Build relationships with cross-functional teams, identifying and influencing areas of opportunity needed to achieve balanced outcomes across areas.

  • Participate in the design, development and testing for process changes impacting core business teams, vendors, supply chain and inventory management.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for areas impacting Omni Channel Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Retail, Compliance and Vendor Partnerships.

System and Process Administration, Maintenance and Implementation:

  • Conduct routine system audit and maintenance activities specific to inventory management and vendor compliance activities.

  • Partner with Best Buy Technology Teams on behalf of the core business to ensure system availability, articulating business impact and driving issue resolution.

  • Responsible for accurate system set-up, maintenance, inventory optimization and reporting activities as required supporting key drive times, company initiatives, and projects.

  • Participate in cross functional system and process implementations impacting multi-channel inventory management, replenishment, supply chain, and other core demand planning functions.

Personal/Professional Development:

  • Assess and implement opportunities to improve the job function and cross-functional partnerships through active communication, documentation and initiative.

  • Coach and lead day to day activities of Demand Planning Analyst within functional area.

  • Actively participate in the performance appraisal process, meeting all timelines and demonstrating personal commitment to development.

Basic Skills:

  • 3+ years in Demand Planning, Retail, Merchandising, or Inventory Management, while demonstrating

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently, interacting with multiple levels of the organization
