The Role:

The Chase Merchant Services Enterprise Pricing Strategy Manager has three primary responsibilities:

1) Provide pricing expertise to pricing analysts when needed, and take the lead in complex pricing execution scenarios and ad-hoc requests in our largest ("Enterprise") global clients

2) Oversight of pricing models and mechanisms used for our largest merchant clients;

3) Process improvement across such models and development of deal-specific analysis and scenario planning.

The manager will also be responsible for developing a reconciliation process between all pro forma Merchant Services deal P&Ls and Actuals as eventually reported in our financial reporting systems. The manager may also be asked to lead other strategic-based initiatives, including evaluation of Product strikezones, holistic business offering opportunities including J.P. Morgan Treasury Services, and strategic deal deployment of our unique ChaseNet offering. In this capacity, strong financial acumen and ability to develop and maintain strong control mechanisms is central to success.

The Enterprise Pricing Strategy manager will also cooperate on a regular basis with the Strategic Deal manager on Strategic Deal Review clients; focusing on MS pricing/strategy/analytics.

The right candidate for this position will come with direct pricing and valuation experience and will have experienced knowledge of Financial Reporting systems as used by Chase Merchant Services.

Principal duties and responsibilities:


  • Primary lead in complex pricing execution scenarios and ad-hoc requests in our largest ("Enterprise") global clients
  • Oversight and improvement of pricing models used for our largest and most complex deals
  • Introduction of improved controls over data inputs, outputs and development of model efficiencies
  • Integration to pricing models of targeted product and cross-business strategies and opportunities
  • Development of client-based reporting to aid Sales in pitching our unique offerings and potential client savings
  • Facilitation of custom deal review, including sensitivity and scenario planning
  • Mapping and reconciliation of financial data and reporting used to drive Merchant Services pricing

Experience Requirements:


  • Degree in finance and/ or accounting; MBA, CPA, or CFA destination a plus
  • 7+ years' experience in financial analysis with strong preference in pricing
  • Familiarity with the payments industry, including an understanding of the payments value chain (merchants, brands, acquirers, networks, issuers)
  • Familiarity with Treasury Service product offerings
  • Familiarity with Merchant Services Reporting Systems (CARI, WCP, ICDW, Salesforce a plus)

Skill Req uirements:


  • Strong skillset in financial analysis; understanding of pricing techniques
  • Ability to apply financial forensic techniques; identify and resolve data inconsistencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work across businesses and support functions to ensure alignment of deal-based revenue generation goals
  • Ability to work well with deadlines, including the unexpected
  • Executive presence and presentation skills
