Overview:

* Functions as coordinator of education for the EVS and FNS department under the leadership of the Manager - Support Services.

* Works with manager to produce department-specific competencies, skills checklists, and other references relevant to the department.

* Assists support services leadership in initial coworker onboarding and developing a process by which coworkers are effectively and routinely advanced through department specific career ladders.

* Provides a method for refresher/retraining tasks for all department coworkers on 1st and 2nd shifts as necessary.

* Maintains documentation to support training of all coworkers on 1st and 2nd shifts.

* Prepares and maintains documents for all education plans.

* Designs and applies departmental knowledge of processes and protocols to complete initial onboarding for all new hires and transfers.

* Conducts and provides training sessions utilizing a combination of classroom, simulation, and hands-on styles.

* Develops and maintains quality improvement programs for areas of support including (ATP testing, bioluminescence testing, and test trays.

* Through thorough training and audit programs ensures patient safety through appropriate food safety/handling practices, food temperature checks, patient room inspections and bioburden checks.

* Includes assistance with coordination of ServSafe classes for appropriate coworkers.

* Provides feedback to leadership on the progress, strengths, and weaknesses of all staff related to training (including new hires and existing coworkers).

* Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles, and Mercy Service Standards.

* Performs all other duties as assigned.

* Annual Completions of Training Education Requirements

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required.

Experience: 4 years healthcare experience required.

Other: The Education Coordinator also displays good critical thinking skills, decision making skills, and organizational skills. Preferred Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Licensed in the State of Missouri
