Job Summary Lead a team of Retail line of business Merchant Account Executives on their sales efforts. Manage sales activity for two Merchant AE's: managing personal pipeline and sales activity (player/coach) train new employees, attend sales calls, ongoing training and create consistent practices and engagement policies with our Retail partners. Interact with the Retail Director and primarily the Group Managers. Conduct pipeline calls and review pricing models. The Lead position will also have a sales goal and territory assignments within their geographic area.
Essential Functions • Acquire new business through direct sales by generating leads from internal and external networks, data market lists and self-generated leads. • Manage sales activity for two merchant Account Executives • Must be able to use existing Commerce Bank sales presentation tools. • Be able to develop an RFP for large to mid-size sales in order to secure the sales. • Be able to suggest appropriate products and services. • Be able to generate pricing models. • Must meet underwriting requirements • Must complete appropriate paperwork to ensure customer satisfaction. • Must meet commitments outlined in their annual Territory Plan or reaching their annual sales, profit, cross-selling and referral goals. • Must be able to handle more complex industry and technical sales situations typically found in mid-size businesses. • Ability to successfully call on C-level individuals in targeted companies.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities • Excellent oral and written communications skills. • Excellent presentation skills. • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. • Professional demeanor and appearance. • Proven sales skills (lead process, solve problems, consult). • Must have an understanding of all aspects of the credit card transaction processing business. • Must possess knowledge of industry rules and regulations, working knowledge of core processing systems, and P.O.S. products, programming knowledge and card product attributes. • Responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all PCIDSS and/or VISA/MasterCard Rules and Regulations. • Experience calling on C-Level individuals
Preferred • Experience in MS Access. • Previous accounting, marketing or software sales experience. • Contract negotiations experience. • General knowledge of commercial or consumer credit.
Education/Experience Additional education equates to work experience: • 5+ years of Business Development or related experience within Treasury Services. • Proven successful track record within team selling and lead sharing environments.
