Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a contingent full-time Submarine Fly-by-Wire Ship Control System (SCS) and Structural Support Engineer in Pearl Harbor, HI.
Job Summary: Provide engineering support for systems including but not limited to: Fly-by-Wire Ship Control System (SCS), Structures (design, loading analysis, and predictions), and radiological safety/hazard mitigation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides engineering support for systems including but not limited to: Fly-by-Wire SCS, Structures (design, loading analysis, and predictions), and radiological safety/hazard mitigation.
Provides nuclear engineering support in developing Emergency Planning military liaison and outreach programs with upper echelon commands in the Area of Responsibility.
Supports the formulation of standards pertaining to radiation detection and equipment calibration, and provide support for radiation detection systems.
Reviews Casualty Reports (CASREPS), Liaison Action Requests (LARs), Departures from Specifications (DFS), and other similarly related documents to classify all known deficiencies, identify root cause(s) leading to the deficiency, and provide recommendations for both short-term and long-term resolution to these deficiencies.
Evaluates Temporary Alteration (TEMPALT) and Operational Alteration (OPALT) submittals and recommend solutions for resolving deficiencies.
Be able to interpret, select, adopt, and apply engineering guidelines, principles, and practices to solve technical problems.
Conducts engineering investigations and analyses of system failures.
Recommends corrective repair actions using root cause analysis.
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college
Minimum four (4) years' experience managing technical programs, and developing engineering products under the supervision of senior engineers.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficiency in both written and verbal communication of moderately complex, technical or administrative topics.
Prior experience working with Navy submarine platforms and systems
Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways.
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 25 lbs. in weight.
Office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, shipboard noise conditions range from very quiet to loud noise.
May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS Locations
Ability to wear a cloth face covering while working.
