Job Description: Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking applicants for the role of Industrial Electrician. The selected candidatewill be part of a team responsible for planning, installation, programming, testing and troubleshooting of electrical machinery and automation systems. The person in this role must diagnose process and equipment problems and take appropriate measures to resolve issues. Applicants must have a thorough understanding of electrical theory, process instrumentation and control systems. As part of the maintenance team, this person will work with the operation team to improve Safety, Quality, Costs and Productivity throughout the facility. The shift electrician will work 4-day on 4-day off, rotating 12-hour shifts with call-in responsibilities. This position requires work at heights and in hot and cold environments. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Three or more years related industrial maintenance and automation experience in a manufacturing facility;electrical training or equivalent military experience will be considered
Experience performing routine and corrective maintenance on motors, controllers and process measuring devices.
Ability to read electrical schematics
Ability to trouble-shoot electrical systems and equipment
Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment
PLC programming experience
HMI programming experience
Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
Solid knowledge of electrical principles
Practical understanding of drives and motors
