Details: The mission of the GSK Vaccines US Government Contracts Finance Team is to provide contracting, financial support & accounting expertise which maximizes government reimbursement of allowable GSK Vaccines expenses by applying our unique knowledge of FAR, CAS and other applicable accounting principles in compliance with federal laws and contract requirements to ensure the proper use of taxpayer funding.

Sr. Financial Analyst/Manager partners with the business, the Contracts Administrator, Legal and Finance across GSK to ensure that all financial aspects of US Govt contract(s) are executed in compliance with the requirements of the contract in accordance with FAR and CAS to maximize reimbursement of allowable costs for GSK. Key responsibilities include:

• Provide Finance Partnering support to the Principle Investigator and other project team members to ensure understanding of allowable costs and how to procure, track and manage expenses effectively

• Interpret and apply CAS and FAR to GSK business situations to ensure contract compliance

• Accurate and timely preparation of global invoices according to contract terms

• Perform subcontractor invoice review for compliance to contract terms and identification of unallowable costs

• Calculation of overheads and other indirect cost mark ups in alignment with latest provisional/approved rates

• Prepare monthly journal entries for accrual accounting

• Prepare journal entries for settlement of invoices

• Prepare financial reports for management and/or US government, monthly or as required

• Track actual contract costs versus award amounts and provide insight regarding variances

• Prepare quarterly financial forecasts for current year and life of contract phasing

• Attend project meetings at least quarterly and provide financial update on performance and risk/oppt

• Proactively communicate with Finance Lead on status of contract accounting, any potential issues and compliance needs

• Proactively follow-up on outstanding receivable balances and suspension notices

Other responsibilities may include:

• Provide cost analysis and proposal support as needed to submit RFP responses for new funding opportunities.

• Provide data and technical support in preparation of annual ICS package

• Provide guidance and recommendations for best practices and process improvements

• Perform other duties, as assigned

Travel may be required on a very limited basis

Essential Skills:

• Must have 3-5 years accounting experience

• Must have at least 2 years US Govt Contracts experience supporting cost reimbursement contracts including financial compliance, accounting, invoicing, receivables and management reporting

• Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) disclosure statements and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

• Good Excel skills

• Knowledge of Powerpoint

• Self-starter

• Detail oriented

• Demonstrated analytical and verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization
