Trinity Marine Products is searching for Senior Painter in our Caruthersville, MO barge plant.

Trinity Marine Products, Inc. (TMP) is a leading U.S. manufacturer of barges that transport dry and liquid cargoes on inland waterways.

TMP manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum and other refined products, chemicals, fertilizer, ethanol, and other liquid cargoes.

TMP also manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges that transport a variety of products, such as grain, coal, and aggregates.

As a Senior Painter you will prepare materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint; apply coatings to specifications and complete detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare, coat and finish metal and/or other surfaces
  • Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply primers,intermediate and final coatings on metal and other types of surfaces
  • Mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula
  • Adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution
  • Properly use wet and dry Mil gauges for testing coatings
  • Produce dry film thickness and defective-free paint jobs with no holidays, pinholes, sags, runs, or orange-peel
  • Clean paint lines, paint guns and perform other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order
  • Inspect barges to locate missed areas
  • Perform duties of Prep Worker when needed
  • Operate specialized equipment and understand complex drawings and diagrams
  • Maintain technical certificates as required
  • Initiate and maintain all applicable paperwork as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures

Shift Schedule: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Thursday

What You'll Need:

  • 2 or more years of industrial painting experience is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of safety and paint equipment including sizing tips, pump pressures, re-coat times and effects of weather on any applicable paint system.
  • Able to apply interior and exterior coatings
  • Proficient use of spray and hand-held application of interior coatings
  • Ability to produce a product that requires little or no touch-up
  • Ability to read shop orders and paint specifications
  • Previous manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience is preferred
