Position Summary

Mitutoyo America Corporation, a leader in Metrology solutions, is looking for a Field Service Product Installer. The Entry-Level Field Service Installer position offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and kickstart a career in the technical field. As an essential team member, you'll be responsible for assisting in the installation, setup, and maintenance of Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Form and Vision equipment, and associated software. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided.

• The travel is within 450 miles from your home.


• Sometimes you are required to take a plane.


• 100% travel M-F with overnight stays.


• $26.00 - $28.50 per hour

 What You’ll Do:

Installation and Setup:

• Perform the installation of Mitutoyo CMMs, Form, Vision, and PMI equipment at customer and Mitutoyo sites.


• Learn to ensure proper alignment, verification, and functionality of equipment post-installation.


• Support thorough testing and troubleshooting to resolve any installation issues.

Software Installations:

• Learn to install and configure software packages associated with related equipment.

MTM Sensor Unlocking:

• Learn to unlock MTM sensors as required for equipment setup and operation.


• Assist in coordinating technical support for any software or hardware-related issues with MTM sensors.

 Local Showroom Support:

• Offer support for the installation of new machinery, including clamping and packaging equipment.


• Provide machine verification upon request.


• Initial point of contact and primary responder for on-site diagnostic needs.

Trade Show Assistance:

• Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for trade shows under guidance.


• Learn to ensure proper functionality of equipment during trade show events.


• Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and ensure timely setup/breakdown.

 

Travel and Logistics:

• Assist technicians at customer sites that may require overnight stays in hotels.


• Assist the local sales team to optimize service commitments while supporting the local scheduler.


• Occasionally provide onsite support during weekends for trade shows or urgent customer requirements.

Travel Reimbursement:

• Submitting expense reports for reimbursement for hotels, tolls, and mileage.

Skills You Need: 

• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.


• Basic understanding of software installation and troubleshooting is a plus.


• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions closely.


• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.


• Flexibility to travel extensively and work weekends as needed.


• Valid driver's license and willingness to maintain a clean driving record.

Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position, however this position guides and oversees the payroll process.

Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position.

Monday – Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

 

Travel: 100% travel is required for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training is a plus but not required.
