GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Arkansas State University - Beebe, a two-year residential community and technical college associated with the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a full-time, promotion eligible, Instructor or Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin August 2024.

The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline and teach a wide swath of courses to include Introduction to Criminal Justice, Introduction to Law Enforcement, Community Relations in the Administration of Justice, Criminal Investigation, and Criminal Evidence and Procedure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Teach Face to Face, Hybrid, and Online course offerings as needed

  2. Teach at each campus location as needed.

  3. Actively recruit students to criminal justice program and ASU-Beebe, and participate in college student recruitment events.

  4. Maintain a roster of advisees across many Career Education disciplines.

  5. Participate in curriculum development and review.

  6. Participate in course and program assessment annually.

  7. Engage in student retention initiatives.

  8. Serve on institutional committees.

  9. Establish and meet with the Criminal Justice advisory council at least twice per academic year.


Required Education/Experience:


Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law Enforcement or closely related field. Strong computer and technology skills. Three years teaching/training experience.
