Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Alpharetta, GA.



Role Description


• Work closely with development and other teams to deploy software releases and updates and identify and implement improvements to that process.
• Setup and maintenance of source code management tools, repositories, workflows and pipelines and automation of CI/CD processes with the applicable DevOps toolset.
• Setup of security and other scans and integrate QA test suites for the deployed applications as a part of the CI/CD process.
• Cloud and on-prem infrastructure planning, provisioning, and configuration, along with maintenance and updates as needed.
• Setup of application performance monitoring and alerting dashboards with the respective toolset, as well as automated health check of applications and services.
• Implement solutions for disaster recovery, failover and resiliency of the applications and underlying infrastructure.
• Write deployment, configuration, provisioning, monitoring, and other scripts as needed in addition to the existing DevOps tools that are used.
• Production support and troubleshooting of technical problems, incident management and root cause analysis.
• Stay on top of industry best practices and trends, security and compliance requirements, and implement improvements to the existing toolset, procedures, and automation.
• Collaboration and teamwork in an agile environment.



Skills & Requirements


• 7-10 or more years of work experience as a DevOps engineer or in similar roles.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with source code management, CI/CD and DevOps tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Harness, ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker. Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Certification in one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with system administration, Linux/Unix shell scripts and networking.
• Hands-on experience with databases and SQL. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Knowledge of application performance monitoring and alerts.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and provisioning tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements and practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of software development and test automation suites. Preferred knowledge of programming languages like Java, Go, Python and scripting like Linux/Unix Shell scripts and others.
• Excellent communication skills, understanding of Agile methodologies, ability to work as part of a team, organizational and time management skills.
