Position: Software Engineer III



Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030



Duties: Create and maintain Walmart's Smart Pricing Pipeline by using Spring Boot, Kafka, and Cassandra. Collect pricing data and provide the data to the team to generate competitive prices for Walmart's customers. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information. Perform root cause analysis to reduce future issues and engage support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Develop software solutions and drive the development of action plans. Perform actions as designated in the plans. Interpret the results to determine further actions and complete online documentation. Develop Java/Kotlin based application that are used by Walmart pricing team. Performed data ingestion, validation and analysis. Create and maintain automated pipeline to process large volumes of data by using Kafka message queue. Develop an algo-clearance pipeline which will allow user setup an automated clearance logic for items. Develop a promotion pipeline to maintain promotions for items. Provide on-call support for pricing-related questions and requests submitted by other team and business user in Walmart. Implement projects using Agile SCRUM methodology. Participate in daily standup meetings, sprint review, backlog grooming and sprint retrospective.



Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Enterprise Project Management, or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.




Skills required: Experience coding in at least one of the following object-oriented programming languages: Kotlin, Python, Java, or Scala. Experience designing and implementing REST APIs using Kotlin Fuel. Experience creating dashboard monitoring systems by using Grafana and Prometheus. Experience using Python or Scala to create Airflow and Spark jobs. Experience auditing data by using Kafka and Hive. Experience persisting and manipulating data in NoSQL database: Cassandra. Experience testing using JUnit, Mockito, and MockK. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
