Glass Fabricator - Entry Level

Pay rate starts at $19.00 and dependent on experience. Hours are 7am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. We average 50 hour work weeks, therefore 10 hours of overtime per week. 


The primary function of the glass fabricator is to know and understand all processes relating to the cutting of raw materials according to specific work orders and place glass products in appropriate staging areas in accordance with established glass handling guidelines. The involves prolonged periods of heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and carrying as well as walking and standing for prolonged time periods. Each operator will learn how to maneuver overhead assisted lift operation and routine maintenance of machines.

Essential duties and responsibilities include operation of the cutting table, optimizing, receiving glass packs, utilizing the forklift, and cross training in other departments. The cutting department is the beginning stage of the glass production line and is responsible for maintaining a steady workflow for the rest of the facility.


Ability to be a team player, communicate with Supervisors, ensure all safety procedures are followed and work a flexible schedule and/or overtime as needed.


Employees at OBE are expected to have regular and predictable attendance, work independently with little direct supervision, aptitude to learn and understand and willingness to cross-train in other areas as required.


Physical requirements involve muscular, cardiovascular, upper and lower body manipulation is used to move the glass/object through the glass fabrication process (bending, twisting, and reaching) as well as gripping, cupping, clamping hand and wrist motions are required to support, carry and maneuver glass/object to platform height of three free in a manner considered safe for self and others. Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. unassisted and 150 lbs. with a partner many times in a regular work shift. Ability to wear required safety equipment including boots with metatarsal guards and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (heat, humidity, etc.)
