Our Head Miller's responsibility is to oversee the Milling department. This individual will have direct management of the 5000 cwt. a day mill and warehouse operations for the Dawn, TX location.
HEAD MILLER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct management and supervision of mill and plant production personnel, including Mill Operators, Mill Material Handlers, and Maintenance Workers.
Schedule employees, raw materials, and ingredients to ensure productivity.
Maintain product standards, equipment accuracy, and calibrations.
Schedules and prioritizes the repair of equipment.
Handle the purchasing and installation of new or used equipment, tools, and other items needed to perform jobs efficiently.
Modify flow and design of present milling system(s) – design of new systems.
Manage maintenance department operations.
Assist Plant Manager in any way deemed necessary to ensure efficient operation of the plant.
Work with the QA/QC Lab and QS Management in maintaining a superior product and see that all products conform to specifications.
HEAD MILLER QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in grain conditioning/mill operations.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
2+ years' experience managing direct reports.
Ability to work self-managed.
Microsoft Office Suite.
Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Group and Individual Safety training is required and provided by Panhandle Milling.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
Extreme climate or climate variation.
Heat up to 100 degrees and low to 40 degrees.
Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
Climbing of ladders.
