General Description



Assists with the construction and maintenance of cable circuits and allied equipment.



Duties and Responsibilities



To work with higher rated employees on the installation of conduits, cables, transformers, and similar equipment.


To assist with the splicing, connecting, inspecting, testing and repair of cables; preparation of records associated with the underground operation.


To know and work with the tools and equipment of the trade.


To acquire a working knowledge of the distribution and transmission plant, including such things as sources offered, location of switches, connection to the overhead distribution lines.


To read elementary sketches, diagrams, and plans and to work therefrom.


To have a working knowledge of the Company's operating standards, policies and directives pertaining to the assignment.


To have a thorough knowledge of the Safety Instructions affecting the work and to perform the work accordingly.


To perform other appropriate duties, as directed.
