Database Administration Manager
We are seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic leader to guide our team of database administrators across various platforms and systems. As the Database Administrator Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our internal databases. Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership and Strategy:
Directing a team of database administrators proficient in DB2 (z/OS and AIX), Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, and Essbase.
Spearheading efforts to modernize our database platforms and explore new technologies, including cloud solutions.
System Design and Maintenance:
Overseeing the design, maintenance, and implementation of internal database systems.
Staying informed about emerging database technologies and incorporating them into system enhancements.
Performance Enhancement:
Improving scalability and performance within our existing database architecture.
Developing database structures and features aligned with organizational needs.
Team Management:
Hiring, supervising, and mentoring database development teams.
Ensuring data security and restoration policies are robust.
Technical Expertise:
Conducting diagnostic tests and evaluating performance metrics.
Documenting processes and adhering to best practices in database management.
Strategic Planning:
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop strategic plans for various database technologies.
Assisting in assessing the suitability of new technologies.
Project Implementation:
Coordinating with IT teams to implement new systems and upgrades effectively.
Preparing and presenting system performance reports to senior management.
Resource Management:
Creating and implementing resource and budgetary plans within the database administration domain.
Compliance and Efficiency:
Ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
Supporting the organization by executing management programs and services.
