Position Summary:

The Coordinator of research compliance will provide administrative support for the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and the Radiation and Laser Safety Committee (RLSC). The Coordinator shall contribute to the University responsible conduct of research program, export control compliance, and the use of institutional resources by external users. The Coordinator shall ensure institutional compliance with U.S. Federal and State of Arkansas laws, regulations, and guidance from governing agencies regarding research

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to activities of the research regulatory committees (IRB, IBC, IACUC, RLSC) to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidance. Will provide day-to-day management of the IRB services and processes. Provides support for the compliance committee faculty chairs
  • Designs and implements training programs, and provides administrative support of the electronic-based record system, Cayuse IRB, for research compliance committees, all with the aim of coordinating committee transparency and communication
  • Determines, communicates, and establishes an institutional training program; coordinating or conducting workshops and seminars on the use of human subjects in research, animals in research, radiation and lasers, recombinant DNA and other select agents, export regulations, and the responsible conduct of research.
  • Coordinates implementation and management of institutional policies and procedures related to faculty conflicts of interest, responsible conduct of research, misconduct in research, export control, questions of publication review, and use of University facilities for external research partners
  • Works with the Director of Research Compliance to collaborate with University Counsel and Human Resources in management of the Financial Conflict of lnterest reporting process
  • Ensures compliance with export regulations
  • In coordination with the Director of Research Compliance, advises faculty and University administrators on regulatory requirements related to research
  • Contributes to management of long-range planning projects to address both current and anticipated needs of the compliance program/requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Work, Education, or a related field. A demonstrated work history in research compliance or any compliance field

An earned Master of Public Administration or a Juris Doctor

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Bachelor's Degree
