Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems is excited to announce we are actively searching for a Field Technician to join our award-winning team in the Traffic department. 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all-encompassing.  Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule.

  • Perform manual turning movement counts, observe traffic patterns and record comments.

  • Sketch intersection and obtain pertinent information.

  • Set traffic counting devices in the roadway under varying traffic conditions.

  • Set traffic counting cameras adjacent to the roadway.

  • Upload data from counting devices to computer.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Good observation and communication skills.

  • Verbal and visual/graphic skills.

  • Basic aptitude to read maps and plans.

  • Ability to prepare clear and easily understood field notes, and able to work well with others and in a team.

  • Must have MD Driver’s license and own transportation.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Work Conditions:

Outside regardless of weather; travel required; overtime up to 12 hrs/day occasionally for traffic counts.  Nighttime and weekend work sometimes required.
