Purpose



The Resettlement MG Senior Case Manager will provide oversight, monitor program compliance, supervises Resettlement Program Job Developers, liaises with local Departments of Social Services, facilitates outreach to area employers, supports resettlement program volunteers, and supports refugees to help them reach financial self-sufficiency in the United States.



Responsibilities





  • Provide individualized, realistic, and ambitious job development and job placement services to program participants. Develop plan of action and counsel clients in areas such as job interview skills, expected behavior on the job, and workplace hygiene.

  • Identify job opportunities suitable for clients, assist in filling out applications, set up interviews with potential employers, accompany clients to interviews, and follow up with employers until decisions are made. Negotiate job advancements when warranted.

  • Offer interpretation and translation services to refugee clients, as well as transportation to interviews and appointments as necessary. (Compensation is paid by CWS for mileage when using personal vehicle.)

  • Work with clients to remove barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency and long-term integration. Monitor general client well-being. Connect clients to in-house support and make referrals to external service providers. Identify support services that may assist clients in becoming self-sufficient, such as ESL, transportation, immigration services, and childcare.

  • Assist clients with identifying training and apprenticeship programs related to their career goals and make referrals as appropriate.

  • Document all contacts and services in client case files and maintain case note logs.

  • In addition to documenting all services, record clients' employment-related progress in case file, including compliance, job offers, all placements, job retention, public assistance usage, follow-up on placements, and possibilities of upgrades. Complete all required reports. Documentation demands are rigorous.

  • Train, supervise, and evaluate resettlement program staff in accordance with CWS personnel policies and guidance from CWS Human Resources.

  • In collaboration with the Resettlement Program Manager, the senior case manager will track staff schedules, hours worked, and adjust schedules as necessary.

  • Promote teamwork, coordinate the workload of resettlement program job developers, delegate responsibilities, and hold staff accountable.

  • Stay up-to-date on program changes and funder requirements. Coordinate regular trainings for job developers on program changes and train new staff on program guidelines and compliance.

  • Ensure professionalism and quality employment/case management service provision. Provide ongoing training to program staff on program developments and service requirements.

  • Conduct regular case file review to ensure documentation compliance with funder requirements.

  • Organize/coordinate CWS job, financial, and computer skills orientations supporting refugee family self-sufficiency.

  • Attend trainings and conferences as requested by supervisor.

  • Keep informed about refugee and immigrant issues, and available services to refugees, using current information to better identify and serve refugee clients.

  • Perform all duties in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.

  • Facilitate and support innovation in the CWS Southeast Region's Resettlement Department.

  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Resettlement Program Manager and/or CWS Director Southeast Region.




Qualifications




Education: Associate Degree or 4 years of relative work experience.



Experience: Previous work experience with refugee resettlement, job development, case management or other direct social services and excellent interviewing skills.



Other Skills:



Computer literacy, using word processing and database applications. Strong English writing skills. Spanish and/or Haitian Creole language fluency required.



Special Requirements



Covid vaccine required.


  • Must have a valid driver's license and suitable transportation.

  • Must complete motor vehicle record check.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.

  • Background check required.
