Job Description:

What You Will Do: 

Under general direction of the Quality Manager and within division policies and procedures, designs, develops and implements test and statistical process control procedures to achieve quality specification for product and manufacturing processes.

Typical Duties: 


  • Design, develops and implements standards for inspection, testing and evaluation using statistical process control (SPC) methods. 


  • Creatively innovate through design or acquisition of any existing quality tools or devices necessary for the process control and implementation of test procedures. 


  • Directs employees engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning material quality and process reliability. 


  • Compiles and develops training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. 


  • Can develop, interpret, and communicate relevant process data, charts or reports in a timely manner. 


  • Can investigate, determine root cause, and communicate results to the customer.


  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Access, Process Mapping, and 3D printing.


  • May develop criteria for acceptable quality levels of purchased supplies and materials including coordination with key vendors to maintain certification. 


  • Audits and analyzes process procedures as practiced in-house to assure performance to specifications. 


  • Regularly applies critical thinking, problem solving and lean manufacturing principles. 


  • Champion special quality & improvement projects as assigned by Quality Manager. 


  • Interface and engage with internal Clarios customers & suppliers, including tracking and reporting of quality metrics. 


  • Supports manufacturing, product and process engineering and other team members assigned to project. 


  • Reviews product and process designs for compliance and safety, adherence to company standards, customer concerns and to ensure timely completion. 


  • Ability to multitask, manage projects and build cohesive teams. 


  • Utilize Six Sigma and Lean principles. 


  • Perform any other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field and previous manufacturing experience required. 


  • 2+ years minimum experience 


  • Previous Quality experience in ISO9001/IATF16949 environment. 


  • Project management experience preferred. 


  • Provides quality assurance support and refines production methods.  


  • Analyzes data to provide continuous improvements in products.  


  • Develops methods for testing, sampling, and training to ensure required standards are being met.  


  • Conducts audits and creates finding reports to determine corrective and preventative action.
