3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin - off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. This new Health Care Company will be a leading global diversified health technology company with:

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Software Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leverage your experience with all levels of the software stack, including backend databases and APIs, frontend UI frameworks, cloud services, and IoT device integration.


• Collaborate with research teams in corporate research and business labs to build capabilities and applications to solve emerging healthcare challenges.


• Collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team to rapidly deliver IoT solutions.


• Synthesize customer requirements, prioritize solutions, and deliver exceptional value to the customer

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university and a minimum of seven (7) years of software development experience in a private, public, government or military environment

• Master's or PhD degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution and a minimum of three (3) years of software development experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience developing with AWS and Azure services such as CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EC2, Sagemaker, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, Greengrass, Virtual Machines, Databricks, CosmosDB, AWS IoT, etc


• Ability to work with many languages and frameworks including Python, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, React, Angular, and others


• Experience following disciplined development practices including code versioning (Git, GitHub, DevOps, etc), code reviews, and unit and integration testing


• Experience developing IoT infrastructure and applications


• Ability to manage the ambiguity of early-stage scouting and evaluation of new opportunities


• Self-motivated and self-directed


• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
