Job Title: Senior Director, Investor Relations

Position Overview:

The Senior Director, Investor Relations is part of the Investor Relations team which works to ensure the company is appropriately and strategically positioned with analysts, investors, and all stakeholders. This position reports to the Vice President, Investor Relations and is responsible for helping to create the appropriate strategy and tactics to accomplish this positioning. The role will provide the opportunity to interact with Insulet's senior management, act as liaison with key business units and functions within the company , and play a part in how the company is perceived by the investment community, as well as more broadly.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for knowing the company's current strategies, operations and performance in order to quickly and accurately respond to inquiries by the investment community. This includes initiating meetings with product line managers and internal analysts to remain knowledgeable about company strategy and operations, present new performance information and to quickly respond to inquiries by the investment community

  • Own design and strategy for Investor Day and present strategy, messaging and design to the VP, IR. Own all aspects of Investor Day preparation and execution. Primary owner on many of the related deliverables, strategy, process, scripts, etc. Responsible for updating and maintaining the Narrative Arc/Messaging Roadmap and related analyses

  • Drive the process of interacting cross-functionally (e.g., with Finance, product line owners and Operations on forecasts) to stay abreast of current and longer-term financial matters

  • Research market and industry developments in partnership with Corporate Development and Strategic Finance

  • Drive the IR process with Corporate Communications to craft company and IR communications for events such as quarterly earnings, M&A activity, and other financial events, as well as the company's corporate PR program and employee communications

  • Own relationships with institutional investors and sell side analysts; develop and maintain key relationships; lead strategy and process on shareholder targeting

  • Own the process to educate and update investors and analysts through phone calls, visits to institutions and visits to company facilities, both individually and with senior leaders

  • Directly responsible for owning the earnings call script process and earnings/conference Q&As - Own the IR deliverables around all IR communications (e.g., drafting and developing the messaging)

  • Directly responsible for owning all aspects of our investor conference participation, including drafting our schedule of meetings, preparing Q&As, and working closely with the Investor Relations Admin. on logistics, webcasts, bios, etc.

  • Drive all aspects of briefing materials for IR events, including earnings and investor conferences, including draft Q&As

  • Monitor, analyze and interpret financial projections and related models from the investment community in order to identify gaps in understanding between internal company forecast and investor expectations and use that information to adjust messaging to better manage expectations, as well as to inform guidance provided by the company

  • Own investor presentations and briefing documents for earnings reports, investor conferences, investor days and the company's board of directors

  • Lead management for investor meetings and drive all aspects of investor and competitive feedback following meetings, including owning changes to messaging, if needed, and driving change to command stronger shareholder understanding. Will have direct access to and interaction with executives and senior management for key identified stakeholders through Investor Day, in-house meetings, conferences, marketing trips and conference calls

  • Command over the entire guidance process by analyzing the guidance-related analyses and formulate recommendations; own and present recommendations to VP, IR/Finance/CFO/CEO

  • Own the IR process and execute our strategy in order to understand the company's current strategies, operations and performance and responding to inquiries by the investment community.

  • Drive various other Investor Relations projects that may include performing, or working with the FP&A analyst responsible for, competitive financial analysis summaries, valuation analyses, analysis and key messages for quarterly earnings releases, and aggregating information from various financial data sources

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, with a master's degree highly desirable

  • 15+ years of broad-reaching business/finance experience, with direct experience in investor relations and/or buy-side or sell-side research (MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities

  • Excellent financial analysis and modeling skills

  • Excellent skills in preparing executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint

Preferred Skills and Competencies:


  • A thorough understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by security analysts to project a company's operating and financial performance and the resulting value of its stock

  • Experience using financial and stock market acumen

  • Ability to develop strong relationships externally with the investment community and internally with functions such as Finance, Corporate Development and others

  • Experience collaborating with high-level cross-functional teams made up of senior executives and functional leaders

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,250.00 - $295,875.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
