Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Director of Player Development for women's basketball will assist the Head Coach and the women's basketball staff in all aspects of coaching, on-campus recruiting, and operations for the program in accordance with NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and University rules and regulations. This position will provide on-court assistance to the staff for all individual and group workouts and team practices. It will also assist with breaking down and analyzing opponents as well as providing self-analysis for the team.

Workplace Requirements :

This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person on campus during both regular office hours, mornings, nights, and weekends as team schedule requires. This position will require regular travel. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.

Proposed Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience and education.

*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Two (2) year of related experience

Preferences:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
• Experience with Scouting
• Collegiate basketball playing experience
• 1-3 years of coaching experience (collegiate level preferred)

Essential Functions:

• Provide on-court assistance to the Head Coach & assistant coaches for all individual and group workouts and team practices
• Assist with breaking down and analyzing opponents as well as with the creation of self-analysis breakdowns for the Head Coach and assistant coaches
• Assist with student-manager and male practice player program including: identification, recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of student-managers and practice players
• Be present at all team activities and travel with the team to all away games
• Assist the Recruiting Coordinator, Director of Operations and Video Coordinator with team-related duties
• Assist coaches with game preparation and scouting reports
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
