SUMMARY



Bering Global Solutions (BGS), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a fulltime Warehouse Specialist Senior for our distribution facility in Aberdeen, MD. This position will manage daily operations and performance of onsite warehouse team. This position is accountable for meeting company policies, procedures, and safety performance standards in compliance with federal, state, local and company safety regulations.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures the safe and efficient handling of warehouse distribution equipment and supplies
  • Prioritizes, coordinates and schedules workload
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy with inventory within the facility.
  • Inquire and report all inventory discrepancies to Program Manager
  • Maintain employee training logs and files and report to Program Manager
  • Runs reports from inventory system as needed.
  • Interpret supply information and make informed logistic decisions
  • Coordinate and assign inventory cycle counting
  • Facilitate recurring training to warehouse personnel
  • Maintain re-supply of shipping supplies in warehouse
  • Order duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)


  • Associates degree or five year related experience in warehouse management role




Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership and Business management
  • Situational awareness in workplace safety in warehouse distribution facilities
  • Inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of RF handheld scanner
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance


Preferred


  • 5 years' experience in warehouse management / leadership role
  • Enterprise resource planning management or experience
  • Familiar with OSHA safety standards
  • US government public trust clearance or higher




NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, reaching, or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Functions may require research in a warehouse environment that is climate controlled, but some exposure to climate should be expected due to freight doors.


Occasional overtime may be required.



DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS


  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


Job is performed in a warehouse setting with the use of an office and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily order assignments and could be exposed to weather conditionals at dock door while assisting warehouse logistics team.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Supervises onsite personnel


ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels to perform daily work within our facility.
