SAP S/4 HANA RTR Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Position Summary:

The Record to Report (R2R/RTR) S4 Hana Subject Matter Expert (SME) is committed to maintaining advanced knowledge of the SAP S4 HANA FICO core modules such as GL, AP, AR, FA and optimize S4 processes and influence the business of advanced capabilities across the FICO modules. You will bring advanced level SAP FICO expertise from a business, technical, and functional perspective and have an expert level command of this capability.  This position will collaborate closely around R2R process with the business, IT, Master Data (MD), and Elanco Shared Services (ESC)Teams.  The Record to Report (R2R/RTR) S4 Hana Subject Matter Expert (SME) position a) ensures Elanco has a solid R2R S4 Hana foundation, b) drives future process improvement c) identifies and facilitates S4 Hana automation opportunities, d) defines finance R2R SAP 4 Hana integration processes with the Enterprise Program Lead e) keeps constant R2R insight, and f) delivers R2R end-user training.

This position will serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all R2R SAP activities and support the business users as well as function as a key member on project teams throughout the full project lifecycle (blueprinting, realization, final prep, go-live, and support) including the operation phase.

Responsibilities

Process Expertise and Business Partnership

• Performing business process analysis and translating business requirements into workable SAP solutions and/or functional designs for specific projects and changes, including development.




• Write functional analyses for programs. Develop and execute functional (integration) test scripts.




• Working closely with process teams to facilitate project progress and ensure integrated system solutions.




• Providing implementation support, preparing the business for system solutions and providing guidance to businesses on the appropriate use of the SAP system.




• Demonstrated ability to solve problems that allow for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.




• Working across other functions including Order to Cash, Manufacturing, Tax, and Purchase to Pay to ensure alignment with S4 Record to Report.




• Work with IT, ESC, and Automation Teams for process improvement ideas related to S4 and RTR.




• Influencing and communicating to leadership with clear risk-based analysis on R2R SAP capabilities. You must be comfortable with ambiguity and exhibit superior organization and project management skills.




• Developing close relationships and partnering with Global Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, ESC, and MD teams as you will be heavily involved in capturing business requirements and translating into SAP system technical design and configuration for IT.




• Implementing and supporting Global SAP finance in the case of SAP Rollouts, Support Pack/Version upgrades, and/or any potential integrations via M&A activity besides the usual application support and delivery of other ad hoc projects in the SAP eco-system.




• Maintaining proper change control for the SAP system.

Basic Qualifications:  Must Haves

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree (or Equivalent Degree) in Finance or Accounting, or in a related field




• 5-7 years experience in Global SAP S4 Hana Accounting Operations




• Deep knowledge of key integration points with SAP FICO and other SAP modules, including COPA, ML, New GL, SD, MM, PP, PM, PS and T&E; SAP FICO




• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA functionality, especially in Finance, Reporting, and Controlling (FI/CO/GL/AR/AP), including GL Reporting, P&L Reporting, Profit Center Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets.




• Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required. Experience working with Executive Teams in a senior financial role.




• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.




• Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.




• Strong leadership skills and proven ability to adapt leadership style to different situations and people as well as to a complex business structure.




• Working experience in project management, including project management tools and techniques such as developing a project plan, milestone plan, dependency identification, status reporting, and issue resolution.

Additional Skills and Preferences:

• Design, upgrade, and support applications with expertise in implementing and integrating RTR modules in SAP S4 HANA environment.




• Knowledge of the PS module (WBS part) and/or HR mini master.




• Working knowledge in SAP Net Weaver XI/PI 7.x design, development, and configuration of Interfaces.




• Experience in an international business environment and/or a pharmaceutical industry background.




• Practical experience in SAP S/4 Hana migrations.




• Experience with other reporting tools such as, Winshuttle, BPC, BI, and BW.
