Responsibilities

Duties:   Apply engineering fundamentals to assist in various tasks including plan preparation, quantity calculations, geometric design, pavement marking/signing, drainage design, maintenance of traffic design, erosion control & landscaping, cross sections, grading, ADA Ramp design, sidewalk design, barrier warrant analyses,  traffic noise modeling, report writing, cost estimates, and other related tasks for the employer’s highway division. Participate in engineering activities such as CADD production, traffic noise measurements and survey data processing.  Research design options and document findings for Senior Project Engineer. Research code requirements.  Inform Senior Project Manager of workload and any changes in project schedule or additional services.  Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.  Assist in the preparation of business proposals.  Actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems, seek to learn from peers, and encourage reciprocal learning among team members. Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.  No Hire / Fire authority.

Qualifications

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience.  Must have experience with the following technology platforms:  MicroStation and ArcGIS.  Must have experience working with State Departments of Transportation.  Must have experience performing the design and development of Phase I and Phase II Road and highway projects.  Must have experience with 3D and corridor modeling and developing roadway plans.  Must have experience performing drainage and ditch designs.  Must have experience with maintenance of traffic designs and plans. Must have experience utilizing the Federal Highway Administration Traffic Noise Modeling 2.5 software to perform noise modeling.  Must have experience performing calculations and cost estimations to perform highway and roadway design.  Must have experience with traffic staging and erosion control plans.  Telecommuting is permissible within a reasonable commuting distance from the Fort Worth, Texas office.  Travel may be required up to 5%.
