About the Role

Essity North America Human Resources team is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to support the implementation and administration of various HR programs and/or activities. The incumbent will work within well established guidelines and under readily available advice of other Essity HR professionals to provide general support to the organization.

The HR Generalist supports the delivery of the global HR strategy for our Health & Medical Solutions' supply chain operations. The role works closely with the business unit HR director and key stake holders to provide coaching, support and influence that enable business leaders to effectively deliver their people plans. The role provides HR services that deliver best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the business area in conjunction with other specialist HR functions.

The ideal candidate must be located in or within driving distance of Conover, NC.

What You Will Do


  • Advise department leaders on HR and organizational issues including but not limited to     performance management, talent and culture development, employee relations, change management, and employee engagement to promote and maintain a high-performance culture

  • As a point of contact for departments and employees, investigate employee relations issues and responds to questions regarding Payroll, Benefits, EAP, Workday HRIS, etc.

  • Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws, assuring compliance with Federal/State-mandated programs, including FLSA, FMLA leave and ADAA.

  • Point of contact for workman compensation and OSHA safety compliance.

  • Utilize Kronos timekeeping management system to process bi-weekly payroll approval and run reports.

  • Partner with hiring managers through full-cycle recruitment process for Blue collar roles and point of contact for staffing agencies.

  • Assess training and development needs as well as coordinate and/or facilitate trainings related to HR standards and practices

  • Participate in applicable committees and internal quality audits

  • Supports the development and delivery of business unit related topics in the Country/Cluster e.g. development activities, small organization or structure changes, data collection, interpretation and evaluation of appropriate remuneration issues

  • Responsible for providing assistance and guidance to line management on a broad and local range of human resource policies programs and practices.

Who You Are


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

  • 3+ years of experience as a HR Generalist or shows progression to the role

  • Knowledge of core human resources practices and working knowledge of employment laws

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required

  • Excellent organizational, analytical multi-tasking and time management skills.

  • Ability to provide internal and external customers a courteous and professional experience

  • Proficiency in MS-Office, Workday (preferred), Kronos time keeping management system (preferred)

  • Travel requires 10-15%

  • SHRM/HRCI Certified Professional
