Job Description:

Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Summer or Fall 2024 Manufacturing Intern to join our team in our West Chester, OH facility. This intern will support the Industrialization, EHS and Supply Chain departments on implementing Schneider Production Standards to establish, maintain, and enhance the production equipment and processes with a focus on improving material management, reducing downtime, improving quality, continuous improvement, and safety.

What will you do?


  • Product/component simplification and standardization which included analysis of existing processes, research on new methodologies and execution of new processes.

  • Investigate, evaluate, document, and optimize existing manufacturing processes.

  • Support with execution and automation of material management processes

  • Support the plant with safety, health and environmental efforts and initiatives.

  • Participating on deploying Lean methodologies to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Develop part numbers, digitize material management processes, and develop use of ERP systems.

  • Develop standardized work instructions to support standard time coordination.

  • Perform time studies to calculate cycle times for processes.

  • Participate in Smart Factory initiatives including preparation and deployment of smart tools.


What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Are actively pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (graduating in Dec 2024 or later)

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Possess leadership qualities and the ability to facilitate conflicts.

  • Are self-motivated and self-directed with a sense of urgency.

  • Have a solid work ethic - honors responsibility and commitment.

  • Have strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Possess excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

  • Have the ability to set overall priorities and form action plans to implement and monitor for results.
