The main purpose of this position is to help the Data Management & Governance team implement a robust, scalable, and sustainable data governance framework, policies, and standards that create an improved data foundation to:   


  • Increase the value of data for employees, customers, and our business  


  • Optimize data access and utilization  


  • Increase confidence and consistency in the quality of data  


  • Eliminate or minimizing re-work  


  • Reduce the risk of regulatory/compliance failures  


 

The current Employee Work Arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a weekly reoccurring basis as determined by your business in our Newark, NJ office. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

Responsibilities  


  • Harvest business knowledge (metadata) about data assets from subject matter experts around the enterprise 


  • Capture technical metadata about data sources by planning, executing and validating targeted metadata scans using Data Governance systems 


  • Collaborate with enterprise data experts, Data Governance and Data Stewards to refine and enhance a world class catalog of data assets and data products through data curation 


  • Contribute as a member of enterprise-wide cross-functional project teams to implement data management practices so that data is treated like an asset throughout its lifecycle 


  • Contribute to projects that expand the Data Governance practice and capabilities  


  • Partner with Data Quality Leads to support deep data quality assessments by enriching metadata 


  • Consultatively partner with US and International Businesses to support them in establishing local Data Management and Governance teams that are able to use enterprise standards and tools effectively 


 

Qualifications  


  • A successful candidate will possess a natural love and curiosity to analyze, explore and learn about all aspects of the structure, use and governance of data in an increasingly data driven world 


  • 1-3 years experience in Data Governance and Data Management concepts and frameworks  


  • Ability to build strong relationships and leverage those relationships to accomplish business goals 


  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, absorb knowledge, identify outcomes and deliver outcomes 


  • The ability to influence others and communicate complex ideas clearly 


  • Experience or familiarity in Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Quality or Master Data Management processes and tools 


  • Hands-on experience in using one or more data management and governance toolsets such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or Microsoft Purview 


  • Ability to contribute to a multi-location team-oriented environment 


 

Good to have experience  


  • Knowledge of data specific regulations – i.e. BCBS239, IFRS9, GDPR, HIPPA, CPRA  


  • Experience in Agile and Lean philosophies and frameworks

The salary range for this role is from $57,900.00 to $86,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
