About the Food Safety Hub: The Food Safety Hub is a team of 8 technical leaders with a focus on:



  • Toxicology: Ensuring the chemical safety of all ingredients and products.


  • Microbiology: Protecting against microbial hazards.


  • Food Integrity: Spearheading defense against food fraud and physical hazards.


  • Food Safety Risk Management: Implementing cutting-edge risk management processes.


  • Material Risk Administration: Overseeing global material risk protocols.

Your Role and Impact: As a part of the Food Safety Hub, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring a unified Mars approach to food safety risk management science. This involves defining and upholding our food safety practices in every unit and segment around the world, ensuring the chemical safety of all raw and finished materials. You'll be at the heart of identifying and evaluating chemical hazards, enhancing our ability to introduce new ingredients and materials safely, and thus, driving the business growth of Mars.

Knowledge and Experience:


  • Extensive experience in food and feed industry, preferably within the field of toxicology.

  • Extensive knowledge in toxicological risk assessment, Preferred: food safety management (including HACCP), and related fields.

  • Expertise in Risk Identification and Management, Quality Management Systems, and Project Management.

  • Preferred: Demonstrated leadership in research, with a strong track record in scientific reporting and presenting.

  • Ability to manage complex projects, influence senior leaders, and communicate effectively across global teams.

  • Willingness to travel globally up to 15% and work remotely to support global operations.
