As the Production Planner, you will handle the planning, releasing and management of production work orders for assigned value streams and work centers. You will report to the Production Planning Manager and work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities

• Use your planning knowledge to release, print and handle work orders following MRP, Kanban Signals and the Master Production Schedule (MPS).


• Collaborate with manufacturing to prioritize, expedite and de-expedite work orders based on material availability, work center resources and capacity, and customer demand requirements.


• Coordinate and communicate requirements with Procurement to ensure that materials are purchased or expedited in the appropriate quantities and timeframe to meet production needs.


• Support planning team and inventory management activities such as cycle counting.


• Participate in project teams related to planning and process improvement programs.


• Participate in lean activities including Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs), Kaizens and Hoshin activities. Help support 6S standards for department.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of prior planning or scheduling experience preferred


• High school diploma or equivalent is required


• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or similar field preferred


• APICS Certification (CPIM) is a plus


• Must be a US Citizen
