Senior User Researcher



We're building Walmart Data Ventures from the ground up, and User Research is critical to our foundation. Our disruptive data products serve millions of customers, suppliers, and associates across our unique user ecosystem. Join our mission of crafting world class data experiences with them, for them.


As a Senior User Researcher
, you'll help define and lead research strategy and execution. We work hard to understand the people we're designing for, and to deliver useful and usable products that delight. You'll work across functions and stakeholder groups, contributing your deep knowledge of the User Research process to guide product direction toward successful outcomes for our users and our business. Data Ventures exists to unlock the full value of Walmart's data by delivering enterprise data products that empower our biggest merchants and suppliers to make better, faster decisions. We're seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help define our products from concept to deployment.



What you'll do:

• Contribute to defining our research strategy, approach, and execution.
• Lead end-to-end strategic and tactical research projects, from generative studies that inform product direction to usability testing that refine UX/UI.
• Use a variety of research methods, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic field studies, to gather deep insights.
• Collaborate with product teams to identify research questions and design studies that inform product strategy and design decisions.
• Synthesize and ideate, in partnership with Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science
• Foster a culture of user empathy and human-centered product development across the company, helping teams understand and prioritize user needs
• Identify and communicate high value opportunities for our teams to prioritize and execute toward



Qualifications:

• Expertise in a variety of research methods, such as usability studies, interviews, surveys, user testing, and ethnographic research.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and influence product strategy and design decisions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Deep understanding human-centered design and product development


• Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of professional research experience, or master's degree with 3-5 years of professional research experience, or 7+ years of professional research experience
• Work samples that showcase your research experience and approach

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00


Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.


Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:


- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)


- Stock equity incentives




Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 3 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
Option 2: 5 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
